it would be close to the same both would use a little more than 250 watts in power, the only real difference would be the efficiency between the 2 types of lighting.
if you intend to use the lighting to flower plants with the hps would be the best choice.

The only difference would be if the ratings were inaccurate, which I have sometimes heard is the case with HPS.

if you are asking if the wattage is the same for billing purposes, YES ... watts are watts, regardless if it is a lamp, or a TV set, etc .... hmmmm, upon closer reading, this was already answered, sorry ... :smokin:
