I grew bagseed for 20 years, and have NEVER even seen a hermaphrodite before, except in photos ... hermaphrodites are caused by two things: bad genetics (commonly from those damned 'feminized' seeds that are all the craze ), and stress ... bagseed can easily be immature, you're definitely right about that ... but, immaturity's biggest influence is whether it will be viable enough to germinate, or not ... and, picking out ripe, from immature seeds, is easy, even for a beginner ... recently, I purposely bred for seeds, and even though I matured it for what should have been more than long enough, (a good six weeks, at least), my resulting seeds look pretty immature ... pale, etc., BUT they germinate quickly, and grew out GREAT plants ... I was even surprised at that ... hope that explains my position a bit better ... :smokin:
