Unusual trichomes
Okay, I was looking at a different sample of my friend's trichomes and it is really unlike any photos I have ever seen. I have no way to photograph them but I drew a picture the best I could. Most were cloudy, a few were clear, and there were also a few amber. They look just like regular trichomes except they are upside down (The stalk is rising up from the ball, and the ball is attached directly to the leaf) Has anyone else seen trichs like this? This plant also has practically no smell, so I might tell my friend to keep the mother alive. Here's my drawing.

I wish I could give you an educated answer on this one, but I can't ... I only respond to assure you, your plant is OK ... while the 'golf-ball on the tee' is the usual look of trichomes, on certain other parts of the flowers, you also see the kind you are asking about (all of mine also have those, remind me of ingrown hairs
) ... sorry I can't give you the correct info, but I didn't want you to worry that something was wrong ... :smokin:

Thanks Image Reaper! The bud that the cloudy trichs came from is gonna get cut tomorrow morning, now I'm thinking that this harvest might take place over the course of a few weeks!
I guess with a sativa (maybe, with mexischwag who knows?), that's the way it goes in a micro setup right? There's no way my friend is gonna go for genetics until he's sure he can squeeze the most out of his meager equipment.
Broke ppl are so much fun.

In Jorge Cervantes' book is a picture of two kinds of trichs on cannabis; the capitate-stalked trichomes with high THC content, and other hair-like and non-stalked glands or trichomes containing much less THC which just help provide a protective coating for the leaves. Perhaps yours are the latter.

Yeah, that's what I thought when I first saw them. But that was before I saw them with an expanded bubble on bottom, and they are turning cloudy, and some are amber. I oughtta take a look at Jorge's book. He is affiliated with High Times, right? Right now I'm reading in Ed Rosenthal's Marijuana Grower's Handbook.

Thanks big len, my friend decided to keep the thing living for a while since every few days he checks a leaf and sees more trichs turning cloudy.
I'm curious, on your plants with that type of trichs, did they have almost no odor? Because I swear this plant smells like nothing but vegetation. Even the hash that came from the fan leaves just smells like a hint of black pepper... :|

I have had some with low odor and some that stunk whole area up .I mostly noticed odor after watering, might just be the strain bagseed was used, although after curing they have little smell untill you break a bud up to toke, this was a strange batch at best smoke is very good but has a slight greenish taste.
