I've tried them both and I think my plants prefer the 18/6 with some dark period. I didn't find any great growing difference and my plants DO seem less stressed with the 18/6 and generally seem to do better.

I'm sure you are right about different opinions though.
Weedhound Reviewed by Weedhound on . Timer schedule Apparently it's mostly an opinion type thing. Last grow I did an 18/6 from sprout all way up to 12/12 for flowering. This time I started off with a 24/0 on my seedlings and haven't even got my timer set yet. But can't decide to go 18/6 or maybe even 19/5. This is a matter of opinion I think, whether to go 24/0 or 18/6. I know Latewood likes 18/6 to give the plants less stress. My two week old babies are thriving at 24/0 and will definitely grow slower if I switch to 18/6. Can I get some Rating: 5
