I don't know about you guys, but I kinda like the original version where it's mysterious and not fully explained. The movie is more trippy that way and more open to interpretation. But I am still curious to know what the director's cut is like. Anybody know when it comes out on DVD?

I'm so glad somebody brought up this movie. It really is an awesome movie, especially when high. I was getting so sick of ppl kissing crappy movie's asses, like "The Butterfly Effect" and "The Ring". These movies don't stand a chance against DD.

i like butter fly effect

heres a reviewi found of waht were in store for for those of us who havent seen the directors cut of DONNIE DARKO

With the new cut you can look forward to 20 minutes of never-before-seen footage as well as some new music, which is exciting enough considering the great collection of music featured in the original. It featured an intriguing score, a great mix of ??80??s pop, and the widely sought after Tears For Fears remake performed by Gary Jules, ??Mad World.? More importantly, you get some more insight into director Richard Kelly??s original idea for the film. ??We all feel this cut of the film offers a more accessible look into the story of Donnie Darko, while at the same time providing a more thorough representation of Richard's original vision,?
And if you haven??t yet, I highly recommend checking out the official site, almost as bizarre and intriguing
