Your work ethic?
I'm still confused as to how much money I make and how freakin poor I am. I feel I'll pretty much get a raise soon ( $1.00 per hour w0000ooo... Like the Papa Roach song Obsession) and that won't make a bit of difference because my wife, who works the medical field, and makes $25+? an hour and gets per diem and bonuses and gets troopers to kiss her ass, will find a way to goad me into blowing it on some trip to somewhere hot I don't even want to go to, like our brief jaunt to San Fran a month ago.
I think it just boils down to savers vs. spenders, and savers are a dying breed. Marketing works - to seperate you from your money, and don't think the pressure doesn't rachet up the more money you make.
But regardless, my personal work ethic category is winning. I would be surprised if most people would match that description with my actual work environment, though. The scale doesn't accurately describe what's actually expected of me at my workplace, I step up to match my environment as needed.

I believe my ethic is logical if a bit negative... I'm of the belief that I don't live to work, I work to live. Work is merely something I'm forced to do so I can earn money to afford to live and have the stuff I love and love to do. If I could get away with not working I really would. I've gotten laid off from jobs twice (companies closed down) and in each place I filed for unemployment and sat Rating: 5::convincing 17 second bong hit::

Is that $50/hr your actual pay?? or what your charging the customer??

I charge the customer $110/hr, but my actual "take home" pay is $25/hr. OTOH, thats *AFTER* my company pays all my medical, dental, vehicle costs and expenses, phones, cable, internet, cleaners, taxes, etc.
Basicaly all my take home pay has to cover is my house note, groceries, lights, and toys.[SIZE=\"6\"]READ MY LIPS!!!

I work very hard at anything and everything I put my self into. I would like one day to work for myself. This can not work if you are lazy. I pride my self on being determined.

I'm of the might as well do it right ethic at the moment. I have a work ethic that depends on how much I like my job. When I was line-cooking, I was a crazy bitch in the kitchen- I loved it there and prided myself on being able to sling food so fast. I hope to open my own business someday, as soon as I decied the perfect way to express my creative side and turn a profit. For now, I am plodding through a job I am starting to dislike, that isn't very challenging, and I feel like I need a kick in the ass to really get back into it, but I pride myself on doing good work.
To me, growing is like a second full time job, and it is a source of pride to me to do it very well, so I spend a TON of time at it. If only I could get paid to grow plants legally, that would be SWEET. Like a hydroponic greenhouse with a cafe attached, where I could grow and cook great food and teach people about greenhouse food production. DAMN who wants to be an investor, I need some $$$$!!!

My work ethic really depends on what i'm doing. If it's something I love I have no problem giving 110%. Like in college I was taking all these cool literature and philosophy classes, so I got good grades because I really worked hard.
But whenever I get some crappy retail job, I usually have an equally crappy work ethic. In retail I've gotten in trouble on many occassions for being lazy and not getting anything done. Then again, for minimum wage, I really didn't care.
Overall though I like to do a good job. If my name is going to be on something, I prefer it be quality!

I'm lucky enough, (and believe me, it was pure luck that I stumbled into my career), to enjoy what I do, and I hope to do it 'til retirement. However, I have to admit, I voted...
"I work because I have to...now let me finish it so I can go home."
Had it said something, like, "I only work hard enough to keep my bosses off my back", then I wouldn't have voted for it. But, as it states, "... let me finish, so I can go home", is exactly how, not only I, but pretty much everybody should feel, (except maybe male pornstars... don't ever let me hear you bitching about your job, dude!)
If you define your confidence and joy in life, on what you do for money, you will end up very lonely and full of fear, in your twighlight years.
