i had that problem the first few times i smoked out of the wooden bowl i had. it went away after around 6-7 bowls. i asked the lady from where i bought it, and she recommended i get some honey on my finger, and rub it around the bowl.

there are some really adequate wooden bowls. as already said, depends on wood type and finish. but i will always be a glass man.
