Blue Cheer is still around, and touring. They have a new album coming out in Aug. 2007. I had their hit record Summertime Blues, which was even heavier than the version The WHO did.

Most of the original members of Canned Heat are dead, but the band's legacy survives with one original member (the drummer, I think), and 3 new ones. Haven't heard them. I've still got my old vinyl copy of Boogie With Canned Heat, as well as several other albums by them.

I LOVE Lynyrd Skynyrd

But then again, I don't think I've met anyone who doesn't like their music. "Curtis Lowe" and "Freebird" will always have a special place in my heart
