Deadfan420 there's nothing glam about being a coked up metal head either but you don't see me moaning about their style. Just because someone dresses that way doesn't mean they follow that lifestyle.

Cannabis=freedom You may not like their clothes but there's no need to hate it, hates such a harsh word. I don't see any hip hop heads here saying f**cking dirty long haired hippies. Exactly.

Some of my students are young men who have had the strength of character to move beyond the gangster mentality that rules their neighborhood, and they pity those who are still fighting "turf battles" over land they don't own, and killing each other daily over trifles misunderstood years before. Those who live in that culture are suckered into thinking it is cool, and they die for it. Why are people still making money selling music that promotes this? Whores will be with us always I suppose.
Anyone who glorifies such a culture is thoughtless and cruel. The little boys growing up, looking up to the "thugs" who should be their role models- is this the future these kids deserve? It isn't just a game, a song, or a fashion statement. It is a philosophy that does not consider human life valuable.

All these baby "ganstas" in big boy pants need to grow up. Especially the idoit surburbanite wannabes. Please.

I'm sorry for pusing the issue..if anyone wants this thread to die.. but
nightwolf, i'm not judging you because i don't know you but that "im a rocker cause i listen to it and so are my friends" attitude is the same thing the "gangster" kids do with "gansta rap"

be yourself man. i listen to rap, rock, blues, jazz, colombian folk music, salsa....techno....southern rock...classic rock.. i pretty much listen to ALL kinds of music but it does not label me.
it sucks because i know EXACTLY what you are talking about(rappers, rockers, skateboarders, gothic...all that shit) and it is ruining american schools, in my opinion..

peace and love nightwolf.. i am not picking a fight with you.

Yea theres a lot of cliques in schools, however I noticed that in college there really aren't any any cliques or very little of cliques.

That's unfair IMO. It's ok to accept one life style and then look down upon another one? I probably can say the same thing about some certain ways of living. I will not speak on them at all because I'm not trying to start a whole new argument here. But, if your building blocks took place in Asia you'd probably grow up used to that life style, talking that language and just being like everyone around you, coming to America it'd be so different. The only point I'm trying to make is just because some one grew up up a certain environment and don't know any better than what they've picked up during their growing years and couldn't change if they wanted to does not deserve to be despised because you all think they are being "gangsta".

There is no being to it, they are are just living how they know how. Gangsta is just a label people want to tag on that style of life. And this is not the first time I've heard some one rant on about that stuff. Oh they feel oh so uncomfortable when they are having a birthday party at Old Country Buffet and feel like their fun has been interrupted and completely stopped when they see a clique of guys come in with baggy clothes and hats and shit and all that other bull shit. I mean if it's on the rack just like every other item of clothing why can't it be bought and worn just like everything else? But you never think how we feel. We might be in a place where everyone is basically the same at a bar or something and then you see a few white guys in a suit come in. They stands out, who are they? Why are they here? Are they undercover cops? He must be here to start some trouble. I never seen him before. We feel just as uncomfortable when some one comes around looking all different but for all we know he could just be there to get a few drinks and leave. No different, we might just be coming to Old Country Buffet just to get a few plates and leave. Not focused on a damn thing, go on finish having your birth day party we ain't gon shoot the place up g-style and shit. Oh you hate the mean mug with the west coast sign? Fuck I hate the sign when you put up your damn index fingers and pinky and stick your tounge out and squint your eyes like you're be fucked in the ass. Yes I am mad I'm tired of the bitching about a life style that you don't even have to be apart of. Not like it's effecting your every day lives. No I'm not a gangsta but I grew up in a predominantly black area and most of my peers and family members just grew up to be that way and honestly I'm sick and fuckin' tired of being stared at and watched and followed in stores and monitored by people when I want to be with my friends and family just because they think we're gangsta's and up to no good. Please just stop.
