I think that there is indeed something missing, and I think that it is God. Now, I'm not saying that there is no God, or that God hates us and doesn't want to be around us, but that we need to find our own sense of God inside ourselves. There is a supernatural being inside everyone and most people aren't on a high enough spiritual level to connect with it, so that's why we feel that there is something missing and we're satisfied with not being satisfied, as you so put it. I'm not claiming to have all of the answers either, but this is what I think, maybe it makes some sense to you, or maybe I'm completely off-topic and babbling about random shit... I'm gonna go watch the sun come up now...
