    Growth Rates

Just wondered how growth rate varies between different varieties? Grew 3 Nirvana 44Tops recently (Tho ended up slinging them as they turned out to be males!), and compared to my present crop of KC Brains White KC their growth was meteoric.Admittedly we're only at the 2 week mark but the difference is really apparent. Growing conditions are somewhat better for the KCs (125w Enviro as opposed to a couple of 23w CFLs, Superthrive, perlite, etc.) so I would have expected them to be well ahead- but they're not. Is this a genetic trait or could it be down to the KCs being female?

    Growth Rates

    There's a couple things.
Males tend to show more VERTICAL growth than their female counterparts.
    Light influences growht rates.
The amount of N in the diet does too.
And strain is also important. Some ar pretty darn frisky. My OGKush has grown as much as a couple inches a DAY, and my Yeag's MTF put on an inch PER SHOOT overnight. I have to cut clones tonight or I'll be in trouble.
Oh, and F1 hybrids are known to be fast growers- a phenomenon called 'hybrid vigor' ... look it up!
