    safer stoner networking

has anyone read the story in may/june CC(cannabis culture)? there is a story of people getting busted on myspace and othe sights like it for advertising that they are stoners. there are cyber narcs pretending to be kids and trying to buy weed from different people when their handles and pics are obvious about drug use. a little scary, but i guess it is expected.
it warns about pics, stating your city and schools and things that help narrow down where somebody could find you. in some of the cases the people were blatant idiots and probably deserved it(pics of guns and drugs and themselves), in others it was more like entrappment. selling themselves as sexy stoner babes to encourage obviously horny guys/kids to sell them some pot. its a pretty good story.

I don't know. If you are stupid enough to label yourself a "stoner" on something as public as myspace, I guess you deserve to get in trouble. All I know is these stories of kids getting in trouble with their schools and what-not... i mean, what do the parents have to say about it?
If I was under the age of 17 my mother wouldn't like me going to jail because of some stupid video I put on a website. she would argue that these people looking at my profile are molesters or something... i don't think it is anyones(but the parents) buisness what these kids do after school or put on their recreational website.

there is no way to really safely line up pot deals online. it's all too easy to get busted. those who do it are most likely those who haven't been in the game too long. i hate for people to be getting busted for pot under any circumstances, but it provides these kids with a valuable lesson. and some of them are dumb enough to deserve to learn the hard way.

oo yea.. if these kids are doing deals on-line.. by all means.. arrest them
i heard school were arresting kids because of drug use on myspace, which i think is ridiculous.

I ditched my myspace account long ago. But I do use Facebook and make no secret of my stoner habits. However, my security settings are pretty high so only my friends can see anything in my profile. And all my friends on Facebook are people I actually know from school and stuff. If a total stranger requests to be my friend, I will reject them.

Trying to score mj online is a risky idea. I see a lot of requests for it on sites like Craigslist. I just hope there's not a cop thats responding to those requests, hoping to bust a few stoners.

There's gotta be a better, easier way to score some good weed.

I think that a set-up by cops responding to ads on that site would most likely be for sellers, rather than buyers, who are advertising. But, you never know.

If people go on a site and get asked to sell weed, and they do it, they deserve all they get, coz they're idiots.

Well, if they were trying to buy pot online then they were dumb, but just posting pictures is not illegal. First all the pictures could be photo-shopped, also someone could have placed those pictures on the computer, and you didnt do it. So don't let them give you that bull shit, and blaze on!:stoned:

I hope your right. In some of my more desperate moments, I have considered trying to find a dealer through Craigslist. But never had the guts to go through with it.
