it definitly doesnt serve any real porpose except to look cool,

and also this one time i smoked with a stranger who had a spoon like that and i asked about the hole and he told me that you fill it with water, not for any use except that it looks cool in there. maybe the heat of the smoke makes it bubble or something, i dunno. you should try it.
