Hey how do you think this will work??

I have a 60 watt grow and show bulb from G&E. It's in a reflective hood and everything. Then today I bought a Westinghouse NurtureLite/Plant light and it says on it... Westinghouse fluorescent plant lights are ideal for flowering plants and plants that like direct sunlight. So I thought hey I'm flowering a plant and pot likes direct sunlight so what the hell I bought it. It is a 24" 20watt bulb I bought the hood and all for like 15.00 bucks!! Anyhow my biggest question right now is should I leave the grow and show bulb in there with the fluorescent?? The grow and show is more in the blue light spectrum and the fluorescent is kind of both. Does it matter or not?? Anyhow I have attached some pics of the light spectrum of the fluorescent. They put it on the side of the box!! How cool is that!! Anyhow just wanted your guys opinion.
    Peace

I think it will work just fine, it looks like it has the correct spectrum. The only thing that could present a problem is that I think it is probably not very high lumen output, I did not see a lumen rating on the package. If you want to use tube lights to grow, check this out Floro Grow

The bulbs to use are the sylvania kitchen&bath, they are 3400 lumens 3000K spectrum, I got a two-pack at walmart for $6.42, and also at walmart I saw ballasts(hoods) for them for $7.42 or something like that, so for about fourteen bucks you could have 6800 lumens

adh endo: I have never heard of overlighting, just of people cooking their plants by having Big lights too close.

Yeah it may not be that bright but if I have it like right on top of the plants 1"-2" up I should still get some bud right?? I wasn't even beginning to get buds with the grow and show. But I had white hairs and trichomes all over. So I hope this will work I don't have much money to do much else so any other suggestions would be appreciated.

I think the light is gonna work good, put it as close as you can to the plant without burning it. When the light is on, how hot does it get? If you can hold your hand on it without it feeling hot, you could probably let it touch the leaves of the plant, BUT most warm/red spectrum bulbs are kinda, well... warm and should be kept about 1"-2" from leaves. Good luck, and I hope you get some nice buds. How far into flowering are you anyway? Also, is your grow&show bulb incandescent?

no the grow&show looks like it has a blue color to it and I am estimating I am about 5 weeks into flowering and it looks good I have a hermi and I am keeping the pollen sacks clipped off cause I got one bud on it and its skunk!!! The other plant is just some bagseed but nug none the less both are doing well. Is it possible on a hermi to have pollen sacks and bud on the same stem/shoot??

Take all those lights back where you got them and buy 5 4 foot 40 watt flourescent fixtures. Then buy 10 of the cheapest cool white bulbs you can find. Hang the lights however you must to get the most light

Cool whites are not for flowering, use soft white bulbs if you chose to go this route, or half cool white, half soft white.
