yea i think that rule just applys to the blunts and js, two hits, ya knwo inhale and exhale 2 times but my friend thinks that puff puff pass means that as long as he doesnt exhale he can take as many rips as he wants then exhale and do the same thing again, i always yell at him and occasionaly pop him in the face if he dont comply haha

General rule of thumb is hit it until you want to pass it. Granted, living with roommates, we know the general accepted amount, but I dont care if you hit the J 3 times, im not gonna spaz on you... whatever. Just dont be a dick, and everything is ok.
On blunts though, if you didnt have that fucker in your hand/mouth for at least a minute or two, then you arent done with it. Thats just how we smoke blunts, they are for when you just want to laze back and get fucking stoned like a champ. You pass it when you are done with it for the next few minutes.

i can only remember one time where the smoke made me want to cough out of a waterfall. most of the time the smoke is very cooled down already so it gos down great for me. i can handle the staleness. it isnt too bad if you do it quickly.

in most circles it's only applied to Blunts or Joints and is classified (at least, by me) as two full exhales. However, when smoking with only a few (1 or 2) close friends, it is mainly overridden and you are allowed to 'hold on to it' for a decent amount of time (avg 1 minute to 1 minute and 30 seconds) but no more than 2 minutes, unless it's a fat blunt. The puff-puff-pass rule is chiefly applied at parties with a lot of people smoking, and only one or two joints/blunts being passed around to many people. remember, everyone else wants to smoke too! don't hold it for too long if you're in a large group!!!

when i read the title of this post i was like "what a dumbass" but as i read it realized the substance of this post, puff puff pass to me and my friends means 2 hits then pass it, no 2 inhales and one exhale
