    Is 4" vent big enough?

In a 10' x 10' area, I have opened up my vent line and now have four inch open vents on oposite corners of the room. Does anyone think that this is good enough venting or should I open the vent up to 6"?

It's not so much the size of the vent as it is the cfm of the fan hooked to that vent.

Venting requirements also depend on the specifics of your particular setup - so a lot more information is necessary if you want an educated answer to your question.

Ceiling height in room (need cu.ft. of room) - lights - are lights cooled - ambient temps (vent reqs will be different in Siberia vs. Sudan ). Anyway, you get the idea.

I'd go with the 6" vent just to play it safe.

    Two six inch @ 250cfm each. Room size is ( 10' L x 8' W x 8.5' H ).
The lights are air cooled with blower. I am thinking that I will be installing one fan at the intake of the blower line to bring in air from outside. Then install the other on the exhaust side to push air out. I am trying not to have to cut more holes in the walls and use the existing line I have in place for the lights. Do you think this will be enough?

I exhaust my room partially right THROUGH my air-cooled lights. The light vent intake is inside the grow area and exhausts to outdoors. With a burly enough fan, that's an option for you if you have a decent passive intake somewhere in the room.

6 inch, you will just upgrade from 4 inches in a matter of time, but thats just my opinion.

    lol i have a 400 watt hid room... about 3ft x 4ft

i'm running 6".... i know what you are thinking... you can get better stuff cheaper, for 4"... but actually the fans are WAY more efficiant at 6", well making up the DIY costs
