I've never had any issues with Paypal, and I have used it for eBay on several occasions, I have not linked my with my bank account though, just credit cards. I have received those "phishing" emails though, I think they are common.

I have a paypal account with 4 different e-mail addys attached, and I get 1 to 2 phishing e-mails a month on one address or the other. They are fairly easy to recognize, some even have misspelled words or bad grammar. But they are getting more sophisticated. I report all my suspicious e-mails to paypal and they work to shut them down. I have had paypal 5 years and my actual account has never been compromised. Just be careful of those e-mail wanting info!

So when you sign up to paypal you will get a lot of emails from scammers, people pretending they are paypal and trying to get your personal info..

but how come it only happens once you sign up to paypal on the same email, im sure they keep your email confidential..

    I dont get it?

I only use credit cards. That phishing shit and scamming stuff just bothers me. Its like those nigerian scams I get 3 times a day. Such bull..

I use 1 e-mail address I only use for e-bay. I get phishing e-mails from that one. I have 1 e-mail I only use for i-tunes and I get phishing e-mails on that. On my main e-mail which I use for most things, I have never received a bad e-mail. Paypal is quite good at protecting your privacy. Somehow the bad guys are getting the addresses and the fact that I have a paypal account, but that is all. They have to try to "phish" for the rest of the info.

Your email address is given or sold to scammers from web sites you have entered and registered on.

We have been using paypal and ebay for about 3 years now its a good system but it does require a bit of care and attention as regards security.
Just the usual stuff dont give away passwords etc, there are a lot of emails arrive supposedly from paypal asking you to update account etc just chuck them in the bin.
It takes a wee bit getting used to but really its fairly straight forward as for taking money out your paypal account I think there is a small charge for transferring less than £50.00 but I'd have to check with Mrs NCM.
But go ahead ebay can be fun but remember not everything is a bargain(unless you are buying from me LOL) some people will buy anything just because its on ebay when it can be got elsewhere cheaper. Read as much as you can in the ebay "how to use" sections and you cant really go wrong.
Better still do what I did and get somebody to show you how it works (my fees are reasonable

    Cheers
