How do i tell indica from sativa

sorry im a noob but is there a way to tell indica from sativa from a bud or if its already broken down? because sometimes i like to know what im smoking at friends houses or something before i smoke it. thanks

You can either tell by the plant or the high

Sativa plants are usually big plants and outdoor, with thin long leaves

Indica plants are usually smaller plants grown indoor, with fatter leaves

As for the smoke, indica has the body stone, and the sativa is more kind of a head high.

Remember most strains are hybrid.

Yeah sorry there's usually no way to tell unless you see it grow before you smoke it. But, sometimes you have a chance. Indicas are usually a denser bud, and not quite as light, airy, and fluffy as sativas. Indicas tend to have a darker color than sativas do. Sorry but there's just really no straight forward rule until you've smoked it. Your best bet would be to find a connection that knows what its selling.

as he mentioned, mostly you'll come across hybrids, so the question becomes which one is the dominant of the strain...

also as he mentioned, the only two ways to tell are to grow it (or see it before harvest) or smoke it...

they don't produce diffrent colors or smells if that's what you were looking for.

a bud thats indica and sativa at the same time

like slip said, it can be different, like 25%indica, 75% sativa, or the opposite, or 50/50 you know...thats what you're looking for, which is the dominant one.

please explain the feelings you get like when you get a head high and body stone. ive had it where i felt real heavy and where i felt like i was flying when i lay down but i felt like i wanted to get up and walk around in circles to atleast be doing something lol

head high... you feel it mostly in your head... sativa is usually accompanied by a very uppity hyper high... you don't feel lazy, you actually feel like gettign up and doing stuff... anything just to keep busy and moving... seems to fuck with your sight alot for me too...

body stone, you feel it in yoru body.. often refered to as 'couch lock' where you're so lazy and stoned you don't want to do anything but sit on the couch... everything takes ridiculous ammounts of effort to do because you feel so down and lazy... you do'nt feel it in you rhead awhole lot... but if you close your eyes (again for me atleast) you tend to have some pretty weird 'feelings' (body trips) can feel like your floating or spinning, but not like drunk sick spinning... it's actually fun....

in short... if you feel upity and hyper, it's probably sativa dominant.. if you feel down and lazy it's probably indica dominant.

well you got it right there, the heavy feeling is the body stone, the couchlock.

When your're high and feeling like doing something that requires moving lol, thats the sativa
