I'm holding my Dual Shock 2 in one hand and the 360 controller in the other right this moment and you know what? They weigh virtually the same so I don't know what you're smoking about them weighing too much. It's ergonomically shaped to fit the cup of your hand perfectly, the triggers are much better than secondary shoulder buttons. Especially for games involving vehicles and/or shooting. I had a PS2 to PC adapter so I could play PC games with a controller, when I actually got behind the controls of the 360 controller I gave the adapter away and when down and bought the PC receiver for the 360 wireless controller and use it for every game that works well mapped to a controller as it's just plain superior to the DS2.
As far as motion sensing. I absolutely love it for the Wii, but all Sony did was abandon their PS3-Arang as soon as Wii's controller was unveiled and threw in a simplistic and rather useless motion sensing gimmick into it to quickly copy Nintendo (as they always love to do)
The Dual Shock and Dual Shock 2 were good controllers, though the Dpad and the left analog stick should be reversed for the Sixaxis and the R2 and L2 buttons should have been turned into triggers.

actually, ps3 controllers weigh far less then dual shock controllers... and no, the dual shock and sixaxis controller are perfection.... why would you want to reverse them when games hardly really use the d-pad?
and no, the motion sensiing is far from useless... it's much better then basing the entire damn control off of motion sensing... it ENHANCES a game experience...
the d pad went out with nintendo, sega genesis and super nintendo.... analog sticks have pretty much been the norm since... oh... dreamcast/64??
take blazing angels for instance.... you can control the pitch and yaw of the plane with just tilting the controller, while still utilizing every other button on the controller.

my mates got 360(wireless controle btw) so thats how i can give you my veiw on that.
as for comparing the weight. im holding a dualshock 2 in one hand and a sixaxis in the other and uhh guess what. the sixaxis is lighter.
so in future melkane.. think longer and harder before you write me one of your novels like that again.

and melkane i have to ask.... if you're so against sony and playstion (you've never had one good thing to say about it, and you seem to pit them against M$ and xbox nearly always) why do you continually reply to every post in this section that even so much as mentions sony or playstation? i mean you claim to not be a M$ fanboy, but you're posting and actions are really speaking otherwise....
i mean, i DO hate M$ and xbox, but i don't go into the xbox threads and point out the endless number of flaws in the xbox...

Well obviously you have selective reading as I have made some good remarks about Sony here and there (such as their game development section of the company and did I just not state in this topic that I thought the DS and DS2 were good controllers?)
You would reverse the Dpad position with the analog stick because the way the DS2 controller is held, the Dpads position gives it priority, and you just said it yourself that now days the Dpad isn't used as much (though it's still better for fighting games than an analog stick) The DS design was based off of the original PS controller and they just added the analog sticks to the bottom portion of the controller without regarding ergonmics. The natural resting position of your thumbs is where the dpad is at, therefore they should be reversed. That's what the Xbox and the 360 controllers do and it improves upon controller functionality.
So Bluntblaze, the Sixaxis is lighter than the DS2, so does that mean you are saying that last generation for the PS2, the DS2 always bugged you for being too heavy? Or does the heavy complaint only apply when it's a Microsoft or Xbox product?
A fanboy would side with one company and hate on everything else and praise nothing but its console/company of choice. I on the other hand like pretty much all facets of gaming except Sony. My bitterness towards them has no reference to any other brand I guess you could call it Anti-Fanboyism. Instead of extreme love for one particular brand, it's extreme hatred for one particular brand. Justified in my own eyes, if not in others eyes.

also last generation i had nothing to compare it to.. so no, i wasn't botherd, this generation i do. so if i was to play a game with a ds2 it would bother me as does the 360 ct its just too big and heavy.
the sixaxis is small and light.. which makes it more comfortable to hold imo.
ps can the 360 browse the internet? if so how do you get onto it?
