Osho is one of my friends on myspace haha, I read his stuff sometimes hes pretty wise. I get what hes saying there its almost like people understand what hate is more than what love is..and even if they think they understand what love is chances are very great that they are wrong.

I don't think it's that people don't understand what love is. I think that people often believe that the only kind of (platonic) love that exists is the kind they've been taught about. It's not a matter of personal intelligence. It's just that many of us have been conditioned to try to love our enemies, families and neighbors. The point I think Osho's trying to make is that the act of trying in itself destroys the possibility of true sincerity, and thus it can never be authentic love.

Being authentic in today's world is hard. I've been in trouble more than once for not faking love, even in the smaller things in life. It's not always appropriate, and sometimes it can be downright rude, but I'd much rather be true to myself than be well-liked by everyone I meet. It has its consequences, but it also is very rewarding - especially when you find that you are in fact truly happy or truly loving.
