    Howdy Y'all from Austin, Texas

Howdy hi there friends and neighbors
I just happened to stumble upon this site whilst surfin' the net and cruisin' the search engines, just sorta pokin' around I found this website and forum and liked what I read, everyone seems cool and the posts are all informative and interesting.
I have always been an advocate of all things natural and healthy but I feel especially supportive of those things that are natural and healthy that are then made illegal by our government. I find it incredulous that this country, after experiencing the absolute failure of the prohibition, would continue to make marijuana illegal - it never ceases to amaze me how many people support the so called war on drugs, but what's worse than the war on drugs is the fact that marijuana is included among the drugs that are considered dangerous. I would argue against the illegalization of all drugs, but to me the issue of marijuana is a seperate argument, because of the fact that marijuana isn't even in the same category. Marijuana is nothing like any of the other drugs, it's an herb that's non-addictive, beneficial and impossible to overdose on.
I'm no big conspiracy theorist, but lies continue to be spread by our government, and myths abound throughout the nation about the so-called "evils" of the "drug" marijuana, yet science proves that it is not only harmless but beneficial; there has never been a single case of a person "overdosing" from marijuana (but there are examples of illnesses being cured) it's been proven to have little or no effect of one's ability to operate machinery, or drive a car; I can't find a single reason to make it illegal...but I'm "preaching to choir" here aren't I?
Well umm...sorry for the rant...hehe... I just get a little upset when I think about it. Marijuana has been an integral part of my life for a very long time, but as I get older it's use becomes more benficial, at the same time it becomes increasingly harder to get. I'll soon be left with no other option but to grow - but in any case - I don't see myself giving it up any time soon, and I'm glad to find a forum that addresses the subject with others who share my feelings on the matter. I look forward to becoming a part of the on-line community here. Thanks for havin' me! ...

    You get a little upset...?
I've been dry for the better part of 5 years after moving from New York (land of the never ending supply) to Middle Tennesseee (land of the uber paranoid bible belt farmer)... I'm well past the "upset" point. I'm on the verge of giving up hope that I will ever smoke again.

    Hey there...from near Houston.
Conspiracy? Why no way. Just because Texas now has to go to corporate America for prisons to house our 'nonviolent' offenders? (reads: small time drug violations) CCA!!! Corrections Corporation of America who houses most of Texas' nonviolent, has a huge vested interest in keeping marijuana laws intact. With six fully staffed and operating priviate prisons here, it would just be poor business practices to moderate pot laws in Tx.
Suprise surprise...Many of King Georges cronies are major stockholders in CCA.

Sorry for the 'rant'... Welcome from a fellow Texan, though I'm pretty new here too. I kinda stumbled on this site by accident too, looking for a new seed source. I've been growing organically for about five years, and I'm still searching for a really good strain for outdoors in our summer heat. Suggestions are always welcome...B
