I recently was reading about personal air conditioners in a home improvement magazine and thought they might work great in a grow cab/closet situation. This link is to a rather pricey one but it shows the venting ports well. Other, less expensive models are available.

Ambiance AMAC12000 12,000 BTU, Dual Hose Portable Air Conditioner , Dehumidifier, Fan & Heater Unit w/ Remote

The beauty of these units is that the intake and exhaust air is regulated through hoses so that the air to be cooled could be drawn from the relatively cool air outside the cabinet or from outside air and the exhaust could be easily be directed in to existing ventalation ducts, crawl space, attic or outside even when a window is not available. Some units come with a built in carbon scrubber but it would be simple to hook a scrubber in line to the exhaust. And, to top it all off it is also a dehumidifier.

To summize, one machine could cool or heat, exhaust room air, dehumidify, and scrub the out going air while taking the fresh air from the most opportune area and exhausting it where most convenient.

Sounds like a winner. Any one using one? Thoughts or comments?
