Potential HIV cure in the future?
Very interesting article about a wonderfully hopeful new discovery.
One bit of clarification, though, on what you said. Subtle but important.
That article said the engineered Tre enzyme has proven to cut the HIV1 virus out of cells in vitro (literally means "in glass" = in a test tube/petri dish). So right now, the only conclusion anyone can draw is that it may help remove HIV from human cells in vivo ("in life") down the road. That's apparently still a long way away.birdgirl73 Reviewed by birdgirl73 on . Potential HIV cure in the future? http://www.dancewithshadows.com/business/pharma/hiv-cure-enzyme.asp This is a couple weeks old but here's the article. Basically scientists were able to create an enzyme that can remove HIV from cells.
