any risks with a club card?

    hey guys
i've been thinking about getting a club card. a lot of my friends have one, but im paranoid. i have a paranoid suspicion that once ur a club member, ur name gets put into a database that derclares all the potheads of the world, and being as i'd like to be someone important status when i groen up, is this something to be worried about? can this come up in background checks?

Well legally doctors are not supposed to give their patient information to ANYONE, I think that's part of that patient-doctor confidentiality law, however, that hasn't stopped the feds from trying to obtain the names from some of the doctors they have raided.

Personally, I don't see it as a big risk, I don't deny the risk is there, but I'm not a drug dealer, I just smoke pot from time to time and I don't believe any government agency would really care enough to do anything. But again, there is always that risk that they could take a list and try to make an example out of those people, but again, personally I don't believe that is very likely.

Even if you are unlucky enough to have your doctors office raided and that list compromised, I'm sure any decent lawyer would be able to toss it out of court. They are mostly going after the people making money off medical marijuana, not the individual users. My own personal opinion is that my legality under California law is a big FUCK YOU to the federal government trying to tell me how to manage my health. So even if the risk was higher I would probably still have gone legal.

Oh, one thing that is important I sorta overlooked, my county/state doesn't require me to do anything with the goverment. I don't have a government issued card, so the only database that has my name is in that doctors office. Some counties are different, but I think the government issued card is optional in California.

What state do you live in? What area?

Get your card, and as long as you don't do anything illegal (making profit off of your medicine, smoking in public, etc.) you should be alright. After all, it is medication.

The State Attorney General also said that information received from applicants for medical marijuana ID cards may be obtained by federal officials to identify them for prosecution. In response, CDHS will be modifying the ID card application to inform applicants that possession of marijuana remains a federal crime and information provided by them could be used for federal prosecution, Shewry said. In addition, CDHS will ask the three counties that have issued state ID cards to notify all card-holders of their risk for federal prosecution.

^but thats with state ID cards, which as far as I know are not mandatory, I think he's just talking about going to a pot doctor to get the recommendation. A lot of people think you get the card or need it, but really you only need the piece of paper signed by a doctor, nothing else.

thats funny. a friend of mine told em that last night. ur not indian and have an older gf do you? ahah

anyways... i've been pursuing the subject with friends and people who know their shit and this is the main thing im worried about: its easy to get a card, you just find a shady doctor, which is very easy. but here is where the paranoia comes in. he feds raid doctors, and take their client patient list, a.k.a. their medical marijuana patient list. what could happen to me if feds obtain this list?

    No I'm not Indian lol

Here is a state by state guide to marijuana laws. It's really not a big crime unless you are selling it, which is why they aren't really going after users because it would cost more money than it's worth....and it wouldn't change anything. I really think you probably have less of a chance getting caught by buying through a co-op rather than shady people you don't really know.

    Hope that helps
