You still have WEEKS before harvest. That's why you are not seeing a good frost of trichomes. Your buds will be MUCH bigger by then too.
The hairs will start to go brown and when they are mostly brown, then you can start checking trichs for the milky/amber appearance that signals harvest time. They go from clear to milky to amber, and the point where you are starting to see a good number of them being amber is time to harvest.

Caramella ok - so the weather in the UK has been outrageously bad. my first baby has flowered. bugger all trichomes - just pistils. when should i start the harvest - here are 2 pics of the flowers. should i go now or wait for them to brown?? this is my first grow!!
