so does molasses just help give the buds produce more trich. or can it also make the buds bigger or more potent.

I am a little confused on the subject of what it really does to help the plant.

Karma- that's about the most expensive molasses source I can imagine, lol... just go to the grocery store

HyrdroC- Image reaper's post above discusses that. The consensus is increased production of hydrocarbons... both potency and aroma are HC dependent. Actual WEIGHT, no one wants to say for sure, lol. I have never done a controlled experiment and don't intend to... just the stuff is so damn cheap, you know, who cares if it pays for itself in weight?

Healthy plants yield most.

so if it gives the buds more resin then the buds should then be more potent.

right or not.

i know it is expensive $2.50 for a lil box...lol i don smoke the hookah anymore but if its good to use ill start...im just tryin to get as much info soo i can be an independant grower...

In a recent issue of hightimes Jorge makes a claim that buds swell up to 20% when mollasess is added to irrigation water during the last 4 weeks of flowering..

really i tryed gettin hightimes but no stores carry it around me...nd if im using molasses for a hookah how much do i put like in weight...???

i have the newest version of the growers bible, im not sure what page its on but there is a picture of bud from a plant that molasses was used on next to a picture of a bud from the same strain with no molasses and the bud that had molasses swelled noticibly bigger than the one that didnt, doesnt say anything about weight but the bid swelled much larger than the plain one

My experiences with molasses have been:
For outside grows I start at two weeks growth, mixing two Tsp/Gal as a watering agent through week four. (I don't transplant outside until week four) I then switch to one Tbs/gal weekly for the remainder of growth between watering. The last two weeks (three weeks for a kush) before harvest, I pump up the molasses anywhere from 2 to 4 Tbs/Gal depending on the simple appearance of the individual plants. We've noticed that this kind of acts like 'carb-loading', and makes a noticeable difference, increasing bud size at a noticeable rate.

For indoor grows, we simply half these measurements.

I also use molasses in a folar spray in conjunction with King Neptune's seaweed/fish products, adding one tsp. molasses. Once every two weeks.

And before you ask, yes, we have done controlled tests with inside grows. Molasses works. It's been a bit more difficult to test outside with the many variables involved concerning plant placement, soil, and light. I am however a true believer.

As a new member to this forum, I looked for interesting and helpful posts of others, and found an older one by 3LB concerning the magic of molasses. They confirmed our findings, and more....Again, this is just my experience. B
