You need to stop being so self conscious. I had the same problem for YEARS during puberty and whatnot. I'm not sure what happened, but once you learn to relax and stay calm, things go a lot smoother. You only get better with practice, so keep at it.

Just curious, are you referring to conversation with complete strangers you're looking to get to know, or people you are familiar with?

They are people too. Just converse with them like a regular person. A little disinterest on your part seems to draw their interest if in fact they had any interest to begin with. Slightly cocky but a little aloof or hard to pin down don't begg or grovel. If you are too needy and clingy it is gauaranteed to put a woman off. Be nice but not too nice.

Talking to random people isnt easy! But dont be scared... I always see so many guys who I wish I had the balls to talk to, but Id never know what to say to them. Being high and talking to girls I have no interest in...never works out. I can't stand talking to anyone on the phone when I'm high MUCH less a squeaky, fast, sober voice. lol
but when it's a girl i like(which I miss doing) I take control of the conversation. I'm talking on the phone to get to know her right? So I ask questions... questions that matter not what she just ate..
but then it all depends on how close you two are.

i don't know. just carry the convo along as long as you interested.....when it becomes dull, wait for her to start carrying it and if not, call her another day.
