let the plants touch the floros, even a 40 watt floro will so called , burn, the plant. but hey, it`s only been MY experience of MY plants touching MY floros.
which are only 40 watt, and they burn if it`s touching plant material.
and to garden knowm, he said the buds were on the lights

Plants wont get light burn untill they are receiving over 10 thousand lumens, and those should be doing that rate, the link lordsoth gave was also a thread in the Hall of Fame and Overgrow, and the leaves were constantly touching the bulbs, so I wouldnt worry about it

If I was you I would listen to notanovice before I would listen to me, his advice comes from far more experience than mine. However my plants are touching some floros right now, and have been for the past few days. No burn, or discoloration, just pretty green... But I only use floros in veg, so obviously I have no personal experience with Buds touching the tubes.

    Best of luck!

leaves are important because they absorb the light and co2 and stuff to make the buds grow big.

try leave any healthy leaves on unless there is a good reason to cut em.

maybe rotate the plants a bit or move the lights slightly if you can, the sun goes around and moves its light.
that would be better than cutting leaves to let light thru..

i have no experience with weed, only other plants, but thats what id assume..

I would try to tie the leaves down or to the side or whatever with hemp string, or gardening wire, I use the wire to tie my tops apart and it works well.

Hope that helps you out man...
