Here are the sieves I use. Note the all brass construction and the ASTN rating. Expensive but Iā??ve used them for almost 20 years.
We start with a 5 gallon bucket of distilled water and 10 pounds of ice. The material to be used was thoroughly dried and put in the freezer a couple of day before. With a hand mixer we blend the frozen material into the ice water. After ten minutes we run the liquid though a paint sock (strainer)(1) and the resulting material is allowed to stand for twenty minutes (2) then is run through one of the sieves(3). I use a plastic card to scrape the sieve screen and those resin glands are squeezed between waxed paper with a rolling pin. That pre hash is dried on a screen. That material can now be rolled into hashish ā??snakesā? or ā??fingersā? or pressed into ā??piecesā? with a screw or hydraulic press.
How to smoke a snake:
Start with half a teaspoon of sieved resin glands. Place in the palm of one hand and using your other thumb crush and mash and roll the material. As it warms it will start to bond together and the rubbing will eventually come together in small strings. Those strings roll together into an 1/8 inch thick cylinder. Light the end of the snake and allow it to burn for a moment, blow it out and begin inhaling the smoke. Higher quality hash will continue to burn to the end giving off a white to grey smoke. Itā??s hard to pass around so everyone has to roll their own.:stoned:
