i live in the bible belt and ugh i hate it. we can't even get certain movies in theaters!!! don't ask me for a specific example lol i have no clue, i don't go to the movies much, i'm a lounge-around-the-house type of person.

but yes, southern baptists are something else, i will say that. my dad's parents and sisters are the perfect example. they preach and preach and preach to everyone, and to them, they never do any wrong, they're just trying to show people the way. but...they are extremely hypocritical. they never seem to practice what they preach. and that just gets on my nerves and makes me somewhat angry. my grandmother sends me cards every week (since i'm off at school), and she always fills up the entire card with bible verses and telling me that i should follow god, and that she understands that it can be hard since i'm not going to a private christian school like they tried to pressure my parents into making me go to. i believe in god, but i do not like having other people's beliefs constantly shoved into my face. i'll listen to you explain it to me, but if you try to shove your beliefs in my face and convert me every time i see or talk to you, no thank you. religion should be about personal exploration and discovery. i want to believe what i believe without people trying to convert me every five seconds. sorry, this may seem like a bit of a rant, but my dad's parents and sisters frustrate me greatly...not just because of how they push their religion onto others, but because of many other factors that are personal family matters...so i tend to rant and get angry when i talk about them lol my grandparents talk about my parents, brother, and me like we're some sort of family that embraces satanistic rituals. not to offend anyone here that does, if anyone does, but i'm just saying that my family isn't like that - but that's how my grandparents seem to see us, just because we're not fanatic christians (which is how they are)

sorry

anyways, many things are taboo here in the bible belt, and it sucks. as soon as i can graduate the wonderful university of mississippi (meh), you can bet i'm getting the fuck out of here.

***sorry if i offended anyone, i know that religion is always a touchy issue anytime, thats just how i feel concerning my grandparents***
