This is gross, but I was reading in the newspaper a piece about regional Southern (U.S.) foods, and one of the ones they mentioned were dill "Koolickles," which are dill pickles that have been marinated (after they're already pickled and the vinegar brine is poured off) in Kool-Aid, ideally cherry or fruit punch flavorered Kool-Aid. The trend stared in the Mississippi Delta region of the U.S. and is spreading, and now they're beginning to be professionally manufactured.

The pickles end up dill and yet sweet, fruit-flavored and brightly colored at the same time.

I think I'll pass on the Koolickles.
