You and I know that folks who haven't been there cannot fully understand it, no matter how many war movies they've seen.

Until they smell the cordite, the blood on hot steel, or see someone's guts all over the ground, the experience cannot be communicated.

There is no glory in war, never has been and never will be, there's just killing. It is to be avoided at all costs, and if necessary prosecuted to the fullest and fought to be won.
