But even if the japaneses were to fight until their last soldier, killing hundreds of thousand of innocent civilians, without warning and without any means of defense is not justified.
Now the U.S.A is in war against the Iraq. And the usa seems that wont give up either. So, if the iraq had nuclear weapons and used it against the usa, following your logic, this attack would be justified.
