Screw Coinstar
Well, i was all out of money, so I took my rainy day fund (a bunch of change) to our local Coinstar. Cashed it all in and had enough for some green and a pack of ciggarettes. Later after looking at the recipt found out that they took about 10cents off the dollar. Those greedy bastards, I could have had money for some food. :wtf:

If you take your change to the bank they have counters there. I go in with a box of change about once a month, they pour it in a machine, and they give the money back to you full in cash.
Coinstar is the biggest ripoff

I had to use one of those cash checking place a few weeks ago as my usual bank was closed. I cashed a $440 check, and they took about $7.49 from it I think it was.
I didn't think that was too bad. I happened to go when they were offering 50% off the usual cash checking price.
The places are a joke, but they have to make their money somehow too. No different than a bank account really. You still have to pay a monthly fee for their services.

yeah, you have to press 'yes' to accept their charges. around here, only chevy chase offers free coins-for-cash services.
