It wouldn't surprise me if the government plants industrial hemp in rural locations every year, so they have plants to eradicate, for their statistics.

There's a thread in the Grow Lounge - some guy looking for ditchweed - several comments were made about the proliferation of hemp. It seems most wild hemp appears along railroad tracts and structures from early in the 20th century because hemp was shipped via rail and seeds would fall from the freight cars as they moved down the tracks.

lol, I'm the guy that posted the thread on ditchweed. Fortunately for me, that night there was a special on PBS "Standing Silent Nation" about the white plume family, and how they tried to plant hemp each year, but each year the dea comes and tears it down.

CC(cannabisculture) or maybe it was hightimes has done a story on the white plumes too. i wish i new which one, i havnt been buying the mags for a while and the older ones are all mixed up in a box. it would take forever and a day to go through them. horror, just curious. does your banned sign stay on your handle even after you are allowed to come back? i dont see any dammage to your rep points.

well just an update, ive moved 50 female plants onto some acres of his land, well see where it takes me, hopefully it produces but, im still confused on this hemp/mj thing .

There's nothing to be confused about. Hemp and Cannabis look the same, but hemp is for industrial use and doesnt get you stoned, Cannabis is for people like us to smoke and get fuck faced. What you've probably got on your hands is alot of female hemp plants. You might get bud from em, and it might look rather good with the amount of trichomes, but the THC and other active cannabinoid levels are so damn low you just will not get high. I supose it'd be better than smoking tobacco though. I wouldnt imagine it'd burn very well either.

But, since your not spending any money you'll be alright so at least you aint gunner loose anything.

Well like i said we replanted some females somewhere else. Theyre about 3 feet tall, getting bushy. Starting to flower a bit. Im starting to question if this is hemp, cuz it really looks like M.J

Is it possible for M.j to have a full life cylcle? and grow back every year?

im going back today to get pics and ill post them tonight.

Im really hoping its smokable bud and not just hemp.

Yes. The males that would naturally be in the bunch would pollinate the females, and then they'd produce seeds, so when they die in the fall the seeds are left, and they germinate the next spring.

Cannabis and hemp look exactly the same. You wont know the differnce untill you smoke it, and dont get high.

And just becuase it might have trichomes, doesnt mean they'll have any THC or any other phycoactive compounds.

Goodluck, and fingers crossed that it isnt hemp, coz if it is, it isnt something you want to smoke.

I'd go somewhat by smell as well. I've seen someone bag up hemp, and it looks...alright, but there is no appeasing smell in any hemp I've come across. Just in case, I would start with a little hitter, unless you're a fan of headaches.
