Doesnâ??t matter if this board was 99% males, or 99% female, there is no such thing as a male forum on internet message boards.

I've been on boards, usually medical related, that were mostly frequented by women and girls. They allowed special sections for teenagers, parents, foreigners and other categories, but would not allow a men's forum. Even most men on these boards were opposed to the idea. The reason usually is "It's not necessary". This is part and parcel of the notion that is drilled into people's minds that men do not have problems or issues and, in fact, all of the world's problems are their fault in the first place.

Responses like yours, BA, indicate that you're wholly unaware of just how frequently men do indeed post their problems and issues up for all to see here. Just look through the main Lounge. Look here in Feedback. Look through Sexuality and Relationships. Look in Experiences. Look in Politics.

I stand by the facts, which are that this entire forum is a men's forum, with women the much smaller minority. You can, as you often do, choose to see this as an anti-men or male problem-minimization thing. To your way of thinking, men are always being disounted or minimized, and perhaps that's been your personal experience. But if you look again at these boards, you'll see that for every five posts by men and/or boys about their circumstances, issues or experiences, there's one post by a woman or girl.

Maybe you ought to go create yourself a men's forum where people will let you get away with saying things like "This is part and parcel of the notion that is drilled into men's minds that they do not have problems or issues and, in fact, all of the world's problems are their fault to begin with."

I suspect you believe that that "notion" is one promulgated by women, whom you repeatedly characterize as male persecuters. The sociological and cultural truth, however, is that men themselves suppress the showing of emotions and feelings or the free airing of their problems and pass that macho tradition down from generation to generation because of their own expectations of themselves. I can see that first hand in how my father-in-law raised my husband, and how Dave, in turn, is raising our son. We women would love it if y'all acknowledged problems and more openly experessed your emotions and didn't somehow seem to feel like you bear the burden of the world's problems on your shoulders since you're the chief achievers, leaders, movers and shakers of the world.

Men are shameless. We don't need a header or banner that says "Men's issues" for use to ask a question. If a question pops into a guy's head and they feel like posting it, they will regardless of the name of the forum.

Okay fellas, if you really want a forum all to yourselves then JUST ASK FOR ONE LIKE THE LADIES DID-
instead of acting like a whining bunch of babies-
nobody said you can't have your own clubhouse with "no wimin alowed" tacked to the front door

so ask a mod nicely and you might get one

sheesh, bg how do you maintain such calm in the face of these shit-stirrers

The reason we don't have a mens issues forum, is because most men believe that discussing male issues makes you gay.
