just do it whereever you're most comfterable... weed is an enhancment drug.... it enhances the senses.. good and bad... if you're uncomfterable/freaking out before smoking.. it's gonna make it 5x worse afterwards... if you're relaxed and cool, i'ts gonna mak eit 5x better... if you're high and eat your fav food it's gonna be 5x better... etc etc...

also, i'd really suggest smoking out of a bong or pipe... so youc an take a hit, wait about 5 minutes, then take another.. til you reach your comfort stage and have an idea of about how much it takes you to reach that stage... over smoking is never a good thing... anything in excess can be bad... and since it effects everyone diffrently and everyone has a diffrent tollerance level, you may get stoned off your ass on one bowl while your experienced friend is still pretty much sober....

it's about balance... finding just the right level for you.. .take i slow... it's not like alcohol, you're pretty much gonna feel it's effects right on (alcohol takes usually 30 mins to effect you fully... cuz it's gotta be digested/enter blood stream or w/e) just take it slow... build up til you've reached th epoint you want to get to...

also never let anyone make you feel stupid or noobish or anything... i see it alot with stoners, and it's actually kind of a disgusting thing ot me... pressuring people to smoke more than they're comfterable with.... i don't do that, infact i do the opposite... if see someone that looks like they're pushing their limits i make damn sure they realize what exactly they're doing... and that it's never cool to push the limits...

kinda hard to look cool when you feel sick/are freaking out... just remember that if anyone gives you shit for wanting to hold off for awhile... tell 'em to kiss your ass it's just more for them..
