I understand it seems pretty harsh, but his comment was no mistake. He said it on purpose full aware of how rude it was. Instead of following it up with an apology he followed it up with a justification, no more polite. I see no evidence that he learned his lesson, and Im not sorry I said it. In fact, I held back.
