Pro's and Con's of our friend cannabis - Please read!
pros: it seems to cure many minor medical ailments and provide pain relief for those with major medical issues, it also is known to help psychological things like anxiety and stress, and is said to enhance creativity by many artists
cons: it's not legal and there are many vague and poorly written laws related to it, and it's not free

The central issue is not the inherent properties of weed. It might be interesting to discuss how people personally respond to it, but the issue is people themselves. It's better to know yourself and how you function than it is to worry about the exact nature of a foreign substance.
Someone curious about pot may read about adverse effects that someone had and enlist that info as universally true, perhaps alienating any benefits that could have been received from responsible use. Most of the time, unpleasant side effects of pot are merely a result of overindulgence. I don't believe nature intended us to be stoned all the time.
MJ has uniqueness, but for the sake of my point, you can pretty much lump it into the same category of all psychoactive substances. One can spend time and energy dissecting intrinsic values of each substance, or trust what their own body tells them about that substance after moderate consumption. There are way too many personal psychological variables to establish one set of expectations from any drug.
I hope that the primary effort of the cannabis enthusiast will be to advocate everyone's right to be his/her own steward of what goes into the body, rather than officially considering the default good and bad aspects of a drug, which is no better than the pharmaceutical commercials.

it could be a desaster for the ''short laps memory'' but it helps a lot to your brain. in a research made by the Scripps Investigation Center of California, the THC retards the development of ALZHIMER. its more efective than any other alzhimer's medicine in the market.

pro: it makes sitting around the house doing nothing seem OK
con: that's called amotivational syndrome and can be a problem
pro: sometimes weed can inspire people creatively
con: can't remember what they were going to write/say/draw/paint/etc
pro: can stimulate appetite in sick people
con: munchies usually consist of cravings for the most unusual or least healthy foods
pro: illegal and therefore not chemically altered and tainted by tobacco companies
con: illegal and therefore possession leads to jail time
pro: euphoria while high
con: burn out after coming down (if you come down that is)
pro: ^slows Alzheimer's development in old people, making them less senile as they age
con: speeds brain deterioration in young people smoking too much
OK I'm to the point I have to start thinking about it. I don't like thinking; gives me a headache. Maybe I'll come up with some more in due time.

so its not really the kind fact you asked for but i sum my thoughts up as: have respect for yourself, have respect for cannabis and good things will come. because all things, inclusing cannabis, has its downside.
