thanks... i think i have the drying and curing down. the grow cabinet will be good for drying, with the mini dehumidifier in there it's the most controlled environment i have. as for curing, i'll just pick up a few jars.

now i need to find out how to properly trim the buds. i'm mostly confused about the the small leaves and stems of those leaves, especially within the main cola, there seems to be so many little leaves within there! i still have a week or two before i do this, but i like to be prepared.

thx... after this i'm curious to see if i can start a grow on my own and see it through to completion. acquiring this one at the stage it was at took a ton of work out of the project. granted i can still mess it up before it's "done", but i'm fairly confidant i'll be able to dry and cure it ok. after this is complete i'm going to try my hand at growing the clones and at the same time try some supposedly expensive seeds i was given in a speaker cabinet or plastic storage box (those grows intrigue me the most on here). :hippy:

i promised myself that i wouldn't do any sampling, but i couldn't wait any longer! a few hours ago i cut off a little popcorn sized/not fully ripened bud, then like the psycho i am, i spent a few HOURS researching quick drying techniques. i finally settled on microwave steam drying and in about 3 minutes it worked like a charm! the smell was a bit steamed veggie like, but it surprisingly smoked pretty smooth (actually smoother than the last 1/2 oz i bought). after three or four hits i can pretty much say i haven't been this high in a while! it's a light heady, dry mouth high, (took me 25minutes to write this high) which is all good in my book! i can only imagine what this stuff is going to be like with a little more flowering combined with proper drying and curing! below is what i did...

How To Microwave Steam Dry Marijuana

What you will need to start:

* Tupperware container with a lid (that fits)
* 3 Paper Towels
* Fresh Buds (cut into small chunks)
* Water (h20)
* A Microwave

Cut a 1/4 piece of paper towel and put it in the bottom of the tupperware container. Next put in all your cut-up weed pieces. Now fold the other 2 paper towels and dip them in water, making sure they are evenly wet. Now squeeze out most of the water, then unfold the damp towels and place on top of the container. Now place the lid on top and press down all corners except for one, so the steam can escape.

Now place the container in the microwave. Set on medium for 1 minute and let it go. Take it out when the minute is up and let it sit for around 20 seconds. If the bottom paper towel is a bit "wet", change it right away. Also check the 2 "top" paper towels, if they are a little dry get them wet again and put the lid back on and repeat the process.

Repeat this process a few times or until it's dry enough to smoke! :rastasmoke:

MrB - You should do some reading on trichomes and when to harvest. There's different highs for different stages of trichome developement.

Also, do some research on making hash. All of those leaves you trim that have trichomes on them can be used to make hash. :thumbsup:

i just picked up the radioshack 3 lens 15x magnifier (the 100x was making me nuts, every time i would get it focused all i had to do was breathe and it would lose focus). anyway, the trichomes on one plant (the sampled one) are mostly cloudy with some ambers, the other plant is just about all cloudy with little to no ambers. i'm thinking of harvesting one plant at weeks end and waiting another week or two for the other plant. seems like a good idea to have some variety in potency...

btw: the packaging for the magnifier says "great for stamp and coin collecting, jewelry and PLANT LEAVES!" i didn't know that magnified plant leaf inspection was so popular!

Mr. Bungle for some reason i feel like this has been your grow all along. You know and awful lot about marijuana. I really dont think a complete new jack would know who Jorge Cervantes is and i think its a bit odd of you to know how to clone being a beginner.

Anyway though i was just playing detective for a second but i think your girls look awesome! You should continue this thread with the growth of your clones, then it'll be like your grow log.:thumbsup:
