    Time to tie?

I'm gonna do a little experiment with my little ladies and will tie two, SOG two and Scrog 2 to compare growth patterns etc.
This is my first grow and want to play around a bit to learn what I can.

    My question is....

Am I OK to LST now?

I will be using pieces of coathanger with a hook on the end.
Do I just lean the plant over and hook it to the ground?
    or
Am I actually bending the main stem?

My temps are at 82F and that is about as good as I can get it when the lights are on. 73 when lights are off.

They are growing under 3 5000 lumen each BrightSun floros.
Plants are 3 inches from the light and are on 18/6.

Growing in MG potting soil started from bagseed in wet paper towell.

Leaves are a little curled right now, hoever I do plan on watering tonight.

Anyway, most of that was just info, any answers or suggestions to the question would be helpfull. (I have read most of the LST posts here, just wanted more opinions specific to my grow.)

    Time to tie?

They look very healthy and are the right age to get going on.
SOG is going to take a bit more than just 2 plants for the full effect, but I think what you are saying is grow them as if they were in SOG; that is, not pinched or topped, and grown as a single cola. Basically, just let them grow and don't touch them lol!
The ones that you would like to SCROG, this is a good time to start. I would start very very gently, by tipping the main stem over to expose lateral shoots to light. Hooking the main growing tip and bending it down will accomplish this.
Be very careful not to allow the main stem to 'kink' at this point. It's not DEADLY, but could set you back a little while the plant heals.
Choose the plants that have the most side growth already to play with for SCROG, because you are going to be working with side branches when they get longer.
Very nice work on the babies.

    Time to tie?

I have been told that 20-20-20 is ok to feed at this point at 1/4 strength.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

Or, suggest an alternative that would be available at a Lowes, or Wal Mart etc...

    Thanks
