I drew a simple diagram of what I think you meant. The long flouro right above every plant with the compact flouros between the 1st & 2nd and the 3rd & 4th plants, on both sides of the long flouro. Is this right?

EDIT: On a side note if anyone knows, how would I get my attachment to show up as a thumbnail? It's a bmp file, would it have to be a gif or jpg? Thanks for anyhelp, I'll try looking around the forum to see this has already been asked/answered.

I'd say you're gonna want more if you can. It would probably be ok for veg stage, but (assuming your sticking with flouros & cfls the whole way through) you're gonna want more for flowering stage. Maybe two of the 4 ft'ers across the top and one cfl for each plant. It would double what you have there, but you'll probably get better growth and a better harvest in the end.

And this is just my speculation, I'm learning at this point and not very knowledgeable so I would say get the opinion of a well experienced grower around here. I'll try to look around and see what would be good for your set up so hang in there. And definately take the advice of experienced growers over mine.

Oh, and the picture. Trust me, get to know ms paint a little (it's not hard at all) and it will be your best friend when trying to draw simple diagrams.

edit: oh, before I forget, if you didn't know already, try and use mylar around your walls or paint them flat white, it might also help to build a reflector around the lights.

Yeah it seems like 2x 4' flouros and 4x cfls are gonna be ok for you. So I would say pick up some more. Make sure you put the plants close to the lights also. It would also probably be easy to add some more lights like the ones you're using, down the line if you want.

The more and the better lights you have, generally the better output you're gonna get. Anyways, good luck

You should also try just reading through random threads here and follow some grow logs. It would help to learn somethings, that's what I'm doing.

Sorry, what I meant was two cfls for each plant, one on each side of the 4' tubes.

Same thing for the post above where I said:

I meant 8x cfls (4 on each side making it 2 for each plant). Sorry about that, I hope I didn't confuse you

ok, so 8 26watt lights is about 208watts...add the flourescent tubes at about 20watts a bulb x4 is 80watts...u could get a 250watt hps that would work much better than all those cfl's and flourescents and use about the same wattage...i use cfl's for the first two weeks of growth and i use 6-43watt cfl's during those two weeks...then i use a 400w hps with a metal halide conversion bulb...the growth is amazing...cfl's are cool but u gotta go for the hps for flowering and mh for vegging if you're gonna use that many cfl's...in my humble opinion...htgsupply.com sells the whole light system for under a 100$...close to the price of all the flouros and cfl's
