Scared of Legalization.
The other day i was having a conversation about legalization. He was all for it and so was I, but the other day i started to think. Sure it will be great, but i have the feeling large corpirations might get ahold of the market. Adding unnatural substances to it to make it burn slow, or a more quantity, or addicting qualities. Im not to sure if my theory is plausible, just wanted to hear your input and ideas in.

Sure its possible and plausible, but if legalized there will be specialty shops and "organic growers", Probably all the new smokers, the one's that only started smoking because it was legal and popular, will get in line at walmart to buy their first pack of Marbolo Golds. But the prexisting stoners, the afficanados will always go local and quality rather than the premanfactured shyte that would flood the market.

If weed is legalized there is no doubt in my mind that I would grow my own. That way you know what you are getting, and it is much cheaper.

People bring up this argument all the time, but like someone up there said, there will still be a demand for the highest quality herb. If someone is producing shitty product, they aren't going to be in business long. Also, its a plant that grows just like any other plant, so you just have to put some in the dirt outside in the summer and viola!
The above post is fictional and should in no way be taken as truth.
If I were to grow cannabis, I would only do so to supply myself and my close friends. Doing this would take myself and my friends out of harms way by knowing the source of our cannabis, as well as take hundreds of thousands of dollars off the black market annually. It would also lower the demand of black market cannabis, and would ultimately help keep cannabis out of the hands of minors.

Why wouldn't it just be like Amsterdam? We have liquor stores, why not pot shops?

Weed and tabacco aren't the same at all.....weed has medically uses, different strains, many distinct characteristics. It's very easy to grow outdoors in certain areas(its a weed)....anyways I actually dont know much about the tabacco plant. I forgot what else I was gonna say, but yeah....I doubt it would become like the tabacco industry.

They go on and on about this "super weed" and why if we consider legalization, we also have to consider that weed is [insert whatever made up number] times as strong as it was in [insert whatever convenient day/month/year] And they forget to mention tobacco strain like rustica can poinson you very quickly just by handling the leaves. We're talking full blown nicotine poisoning where you actually start to hallucinate just from coming into hand contact with the leaves for as short a time as 5 minutes depending on how well-grown the plant was. That's perfectly leagal, though, you can even buy the seeds at specialty sites and shops all around the world.
Its easy for them to debunk legalization with that kind of handling. They can say well alcohol has always been alcohol throughout our society and we've outlawed home distillery in america to prevent "super alcohol" which also worries me that, even in the face of legalization, you can bet anyone's life that you feel like betting that growing your own will be illeagal and yes it will end up in the hands of Phillip Morris USA and not Johnny America's. Unless a campaign like overgrow the government actually makes pot literally fall from the sky, the government will never be scared enough of our ability to produce our own quantities to think about legalization. Sometimes people forget that legalization is one of the last steps towards total government control. Its pretty counter-intuitive, so it slips by easily.
The only way the government will ever legalize it is if they become afraid of America's ability to make it themselves.
