when clones go from veg to flower they streach the first week or two. So can i use a mh or maybe cfls 6500k for the first 2 weeks then switch to hps. will this stop the height and will this have a negitive on the bud set or # of budding sites

Regardless of the light source I think they stretch anyways because of light cycle change . Be prepared for them to double or even triple in height . The hps is what you want for 12/12 if you want the fattest , densest flowers possible .

yeah, what crispi said. it isnt the first 2 wks that stretch your plants its the light change(mh to hps). it will do it anyways. mh will actually stretch more because its not really the spectrum for flowering.
