oops i spoke to soon, im having my own problems right now and from what ive read it could be part of the problem.

Yeah pure peat can be a problem with ph but the pretreated stuff like sunshine mix is great!

it isnt pure peat, but probably a 10-15% mix. from what i have been reading the acidity(ph) causes lockout of certain nutrients, either causing defficencies in the plant or a build up in the soil, both harmfull to the plants. im not jacking, just adding what i have found(or been told). thanks to everybody who has helped out. that sick plants link is a very informative one.

i cant find that agway stuff anywhere.. i searched for all the nearby agway dealers and none of them even had agway products

Actually last time I checked, the package says "manure and humus".
I'm not sure if they recently changed it.

well if you goto the agway website it tells you what stores sell their merchandise in your local area, none of which actually sold agway products...
