I don't smoke cig's and never have done, and hopefully never will (I like to think I won't). However I totally disagree with the Government disallowing people to smoke in Pubs, and Nightclubs. I can understand things like Restaurants and Theme parks.

I kinda have to agree with this guy even though most of you don't. I started cigarettes at age 12. Maybe had a few a week, but as of early 2006, they became a daily thing...at least one a day. I eneded up doing through 3 packs a week as of late, and in april I told myself and a few close friends "look we all talk about quitting at one point and we always find excuses not to quit...but the excuses are always terrible. Let's just fucking do it, and down a couple of 40's.

Since that very day, I haven't had a single urge, a single craving, a single bit of will to actually smoke a cigarette. Nothing.

Now for people who go through in a day what I went through in a week, I guess those are the ones that find it harder to quit, but the day you have to buy two or three packs of cigarettes to feed your need...that's when you have to realize you've gone too far...financially (a pack of cigarettes in my area costs us easily upwards of 5.50 - 6 dollars. I used to get mine for $6.50 because the store sold to underage people so they charged a bit more). And you also realize that you've gone too far physically when you see 40 ciggarettes being consumed in one day.

I've been trying to quit for a good while now, I used to smoke a pack of 10 - 15 aday but they did away with them and are forcing you to buy 20 packs for 7 euro!!!! which makes you smoke more its horrible, its really hard to quit when you got fuck all weed and i have fuck all weed but i'll give it a try

One day I smoked, and the next day I did not. It has been almost 4 years now and cigarettes are one of two things in my life I regret getting involved with.
If you are a real person, you can quit cigs easlily with only a little discomfort.
Now the weight gaining thing I can't help you with, that is all on you. I put on 40 pounds when I quit but lost 35 of it and maintain that weight now.

Addiction is far from simple,,,it is quite complex...

I'd probably say quitting is different for everybody who does it. All I did was bought a bag of "legal smokable herbs" and when I had major cravings I would smoke some of the herbs. The fact I was smoking something helped, dont know how. Just like my dad he could smoke his tobacco pipe for ages(not inhailing) and then not have a cigarette for a while after. Smoking weed helped aswell...well smoking weed was just fun, made me forget about the tobacco...I started getting used to the legal herbs so I can still make nice joints just with no tobacco although at parties ill smoke joints with tobacco since thats the way most of my friends make them.
