Chest pain- spittng blood

Okay, basically i got punched in the middle of the chest right at the top like in the middle where the little dip is.

At first it hurt, (you may say, obviously as you juist got punched there ) it hurt a bit different then it does when you get punched, but i didnt worry about it too much (this was on saturday).

Yesterday while laying in bed i started feeling about around the place where it hurts and once i located the main place of pain i pressed down, this resulted in extreme pain in my chest and sorta panic, where i jumped out of bed and was like ''WTF SHould i do'' then the pain died down again and i calmed down...

Today i sat down at the pc for a while and then sorta streched leaning backwards, there was a weird 'click' sound and then ifelt like I had a throat-full of phlem, i walked to the loo and sorta coughed it up and spat to find it was mainly blood :wtf:

then i spat a few more times with blood, then no more blood came, after a while thoguh there was mroe blood when i spat... :s

I have heard of a phrase 'internal bleeding' anyone think a punch to the chest could have caused this, and if so what should i do to make it stop?

(i mean i can hardly put a plaster on it can I :jointsmile: )

See a Dr.

Dont screw around, dont look for home remedies, dont ask your friends what they would do, see a Dr.

Some things are beyond the scope of home remedies and suggestions, and if you are coughing up blood, and have that kind of pain from the blow, then its very possible that you are actually injured, and the only way to make certain nothing is permanently wrong is to see a Dr.

In the end its the best thing to do, because even if nothing is wrong, worst that happened was that you have to pay a Dr bill, but they can prescribe you some medicine to help with the pain if thats your thing. *wink wink*

you probably cracked a rib and thats messing your chest area up. breaking ribs blows. go get an x-ray or something.

Yeah dude go see a doctor! Spitting up blood is never good. You could have internal bleeding or something. Better to be safe than sorry.

Hell nah! i hate meidcines of any kind, the only time i take em is ewhen they really really really have to be taken, any iburprofen or stuff liek that that i get given goes straight to my parents or soemone else lol cos i would never take one.

but i mean i press my chest about and stuff and nothing moves so i dont think i broke something :S

Sounds like you may have broken your sternum, see a doctor immediately.

I don't wanna meet the guy that can punch a person in the chest and break their sternum. From what i understand its a pretty thick bone.
