Time for an AC Unit... What kind do you guys run?

So that pretty much answers that question.
Oops, I must have linked the wrong one because I was looking at one that said it could cool 150 square feet and under. My bad.

Also sorry for creating too many threads, I more so did it for the sake of the group so they wouldn't need to read through my entire post of my basicly thinking to myself narrowing down the possible things I've done wrong to cause stress on the babies - figured it'd save time if anything as I eventually did figure it out was the heat stress causing the issues.

Nope, no central air in this house... I live on the California cost...it really doesn't get extremely hot here though it's been warm lately. I think the Window unit will take the temps down a good 8-9 degrees which would put me right in the 85 degree area (in the canopy)

ya, Dutch Pimp's idea of running the central-air ducting, that would be the cats'-ass, if you could set up that way  my present cabinet has very poor ventilation (my 4th cabinet, you'd think I'd have it figured out by now :wtf ... my temps run to 90 easily, but plants still seem to do well (70-75 is ideal, but weed will withstand damned near anything) ...

Was just reading another thread about how high temps can cause the buds to not tighten up as they usually would. I have to admit I've noticed the buds arent super dense. I'm dealing with some genetics that apparently pack on a good amount of their weight in the last 2-3 weeks so I've been told... curious if they will tighten up? I am getting the A\C unit put in today.

in the old days, we didn't know as much about pot, and we were taught the excessive heat stimulates resin production, so for years, I happily grew in 100+ temps, LOL ... oh well, we live and learn, but I don't remember any real obvious problems regarding the heat ... of course, I don't remember much of anything at my age, anyway ...

That is encouraging...I think. Yeah, I figure if they are given the correct temps for the last three weeks they should be able to dense right up. They are producing pretty nicely for being subjected to such warm temps by their bad father who has neglected them a bit because of his busy life. Well, at least I caught it early... hopefully I haven't done a ton of damage.

Without giving a crash course in Thermodynamics, and Physics, fully 60% of air conditioning is used for humidity control(removal of latent heat), the rest is just to remove "sensible" heat(make cold). The ideal settings are to *MAINTAIN* 75 degrees at 50% RH in the conditioned space. If you get the conditioned space down to 68 degrees or lower, the evaporator coil is gonna freeze....I can't change the laws of Physics. Same if the temp in the unconditioned space(where the heat is being moved to) drops below 60 degrees unless it has head pressure controls that are mostly found on large commercial systems. All this being said, Its better to go with a little bit smaller system or unit than what you think you will need(it helps to do the heat load calcs) for himidity control. Also keep in mind that with the humidity removal, you will have to water your grow a little more frequently.
However with A/C, there is an added bonus.... In a closely controlled space that maintains 75 degrees at 50% RH, the incidence of molds and such will be reduced to almost nothing.

Can you guess what I do for a living?? LOL
