Time for an AC Unit... What kind do you guys run?
I need something somewhat quiet, and hopefully not stupidly expensive. Bring it! =)

My room has two 1thousand watt lamps, and a 600 watt lamp in there. Definitely a good sized room.

Wow, those fucking portable jobbers are quite expensive. Thinking maybe I'll put wood over the window and mount a window a\c unit in the wood. Hopefully this wouldnt create light leeks.

All I know about a/c's is that you measure them by room size and btus.....more btus the more cooling power. Check things carefully because theres nothing worse than not buying one that will do the job......a good window a/c ought to do you fine.....lots of btus is what you want..

Someone told me those portable ones are far less efficient than a window one, and that makes sense, because you need to put the heat somewhere.
Just a small window a/c from home depot should not cost too much- I think I paid like $80? for mine and it does the trick.

Razza - Did you have too much fun on your vacation? LOL Here's what the website you linked sez about that a/c
"This is a personal portable air conditioner, ... Because this product is not vented and no installation is required, it cannot cool the whole room, it is a personal air conditioner and blows cold air to where it is pointing. Lot colder more than any air cooler or a fan."
So that pretty much answers that question.
Lowe's and Wallymart both have some real good prices on a/c units right now. If you go to Lowe's website you can see the a/c units and also it has charts for how many btu's you need for how many sq.ft. you have.
Fortunately, btu's increase much faster than prices, so it's very affordable to oversize your unit.
Personally, I'd buy from Lowe's - they seem to have the most bang for the buck a/c wise.

for a cabinet grow, that A/C should be fine, but you can do a lot better, price-wise ... I bought a cheapo 6000 BTU A/C from WalMart about 3 years ago, for $60 (buy your A/C in the winter, they practically give 'em away) ... keep in mind, while it pumps cool air into your cabinet, etc., you will still need to exhaust the hot air outside ... ...
P.S. RazzaPiggy, you don't need to post a new thread for each and every sentence , people will think you're being a "post-whore" :smokin:

if so ...I would hook up to the central A/C floor vents and use dryer duct hose to blow between the lights and the top of the plants. I did.
