alright guys, bear with me.....of course we live in a big ass universe. theres lots of shit out there. Some shit out there is pretty big...like asteroids or whatever........ok in early 90s there was a comet that hit saturn or jupiter, and just the cloud from it wouldve engulfed earth many-a-time. fucked up huh? ok...now just a few years ago a comet passed us very closely. It was the distance from the earth to the moon and back. just twice as far away from us as the moon. That has only been in the last couple decades.....2 have hit so close.....anyday one could come out of a fucking millions or billions of years rotation, and we would be lucky to have 2 years of foresight. There isnt much shit you can do about those either. i dunno i think thats crazy shit...and maybe im stoned

Well Jupiter's gravity and relative position to the Earth pretty much protects us from about 99.99999999999999999999999999999999998% comets/astroids/big rocks en route to Earth. It's why we have life on this planet, more or less.

Spacecraft will carry the columbus of tommorow to a new world much as seafarers reached the most distant parts of this planet , or we will perish with this planet.
